Six people are dead after an explosion at a chemical plant in the Czech Republic, the fire brigade said Thursday.
Two other people were brought to hospital with serious injuries after the explosion, which took place in the town of Kralupy nad Vltavou, 25 kilometres north-west of Prague.
A spokesman for Unipetrol, the company that owns the plant, confirmed the incident to a Czech broadcaster.
A little more than two years ago, there was an explosion in the same town in which two people were injured.
