Erdoğan urges whole world and Muslims to unite against cruelty by Israel

Speaking at the Istanbul rally, where demonstrators waved Turkish and Palestinian flags, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in his remarks, "If whole world, Muslims unite against this cruelty, the lobby that Israel rests its back on would not be enough to sustain its recklessness."
"Not only the Islamic world but the entire world failed in Jerusalem cause." Erdoğan said as criticizing the political approach of some countries against Palestine issue, and underlining "Jerusalem is same as Gallipoli for us."
"Al-Aqsa Mosque is increasingly becoming polluted by radical Zionist schemes; Al-Khalil mosque still occupied and all Muslims can only condemn." Erdoğan added.
"Jerusalem is not just a city, it is a symbol, test, qiblah. If we can't protect our first qiblah, we can't protect future of last qiblah securely."

After the rally, Erdoğan is set to hold a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), attended by representatives of Muslim-majority countries, including several heads of state and government.

It is the second time in six months that Erdoğan , a staunch critic of Israel, has called a meeting of the OIC.

The last meeting in December took place shortly after US President Donald Trump said he would move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, angering Palestinians.

Earlier this week, 62 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in a 24-hour period, as the US went ahead with its plan and moved the embassy.

This week, Erdoğan accused Israel of genocide over the deaths in Gaza, and ambassadors from both countries were withdrawn.
