Turkey ‘neutralizes’ 84 terrorists over past week

Turkish forces have "neutralized" 84 terrorists on its soil and abroad over the past week, the country's Defense Ministry said on Friday.
Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralize" in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.
In a statement, the Defense Ministry said that the operations were conducted on Dec. 14-20.
Separately, in eastern Tunceli province, gendarmerie forces conducted a counter-terror operation in rural areas of Ovacık district. A group of terrorists who were hiding in a cave since Dec. 13, were neutralized, regional governorate office said.
