Heavy snowfall that led to at least 120 flights being cancelled in Munich on Saturday continues to affect train travel in the south of Germany.
To the south and west of the Bavarian capital in particular trains were being stopped from running.
Many of the cancellations were due to snow-laden trees falling on the tracks or overhead cables.
"We have been working with all available resources to make the routes operational again as quickly as possible," a spokesman for the national rail operator, Deutsche Bahn, said on Sunday morning.
The operator could not confirm when all the trains in the area would be running again.
