Turkish fighter jets have struck several PKK terrorist positions in northern Iraq, according to a Wednesday statement released by Turkey's National Defense Ministry.
Several airstrikes, the ministry said, were conducted in Iraq's northern Metina, Zap, Avasin-Basyan and Hakurk regions.
The strikes obliterated several PKK arms depots and hideouts, according to the ministry statement.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign, the PKK -- considered a terrorist group by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has killed more than 40,000 people, including numerous women and children.
