A 15-year-old Palestinian protester was fatally shot by Israeli soldiers along the Gaza border during Friday's protests, Gaza's Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al Qedra said in a statement on Friday.
Maisara Shalouf, 15, was shot in the belly and died in northern Gaza Strip, at one of the protests along the frontier.
Also 30 other Palestinian protesters were injured by Israeli troops in the eastern Gaza Strip that broke out during protests there, known as the Great March of Return.
Approximately 7,400 Palestinians had gathered along the border area, according to the official statement. The soldiers tried to disperse the "Great March of Return" demonstrators by using live ammunition.
The Great March of Return protests along the border have taken place every week for more than a year. Demonstrators are demanding the right of return for Palestinian refugees and their descendants to the territories, where were occupied by Israel, as well as an end to the 12-year-long blockade on the Palestinian territories.
Friday's protests were the first after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared headed to form the next government following Israeli elections.
Since the end of March 2018, 272 Palestinians have been killed and thousands injured by Israeli forces in protests along the Gaza Strip's border with Israel.
Israel imposed the blockade on the Gaza Strip after the Hamas movement seized control of it in 2007.
