Malaysia's prime minister will pay an official visit to Turkey on July 24-27 at the invitation of Turkey's president, Turkish presidential sources said Wednesday.

Bilateral relations between Turkey and Malaysia are to be addressed during the talks, which are expected to begin on Thursday, according to a statement released by Turkey's Presidential Communications Directorate.

The statement underlined that defense industry relations would be high on the agenda in the meeting between Mahathir Mohamad and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Regional and international issues of common concern and cooperation opportunities between the two countries will also be laid down during the visit.

Mahathir is also expected to hold meetings with Turkish business representatives.
