Four Turkish citizens abducted in central Nigeria's Kwara State last week have been reportedly rescued, according to security sources.
Turkish security forces rescued Yasin Çolak (33), Şener Paşa (40), Ergün Yurdakul (35) and Seyit Emre Çelik (25) in an operation, said a source on condition of anonymity.
In another case, pirates attacked a cargo ship off the coast of Nigeria and kidnapped 10 Turkish sailors on June 13.
Kidnapping for ransom has become a common feature in Nigeria, with foreigners and high-profile Nigerians frequently targeted.
