One person was killed and at least five others injured in a shooting at a high school in Santa Clarita, California on Thursday, authorities said.
"One female deceased patient. Two critical male patients. One male patient in good condition," Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita Valley said on Twitter.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station said earlier five people were injured and deputies were on the scene protecting children.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, said the suspect is "in custody and being treated at a local hospital."
The department said earlier an Asian male suspect wearing black clothing was last seen at Saugus High School, north of Los Angles.
The suspect is believed to be a student.
The White House said U.S. President Donald Trump is monitoring the situation and urged people in the area to follow the advice of local law enforcement and first responders.
