Cases of the novel coronavirus and fatalities linked to the disease continued to rise across Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia on Saturday.
Azerbaijan reported 531 new cases, bringing the country's total to 23,521. The number of recoveries reached 14,607 with 514 additions, according to the Health Ministry.
The country's death toll from the virus rose to 298, with six new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
A total of 560,356 tests have been conducted so far in the country, as 8,616 are still receiving treatment.
BELARUS
Belarus confirmed 163 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total to 64,767.
The country's death toll rose to 459, with five new fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.
Medical staff in Belarus have performed a total of 1.1 million tests so far.
Five more people in Moldova died of COVID-19, raising the toll to 640.
The number of cases rose to 19,208, including 2,600 health workers, while the number of recoveries reached 12,456.
Healthcare professionals have carried out 1,743 coronavirus tests over the last 24 hours.
In the Central Asian country of Kazakhstan, 56,455 people tested positive for COVID-19 to date, while 32,500 have recovered from the virus.
The countrywide death toll stands at 264.
Graduates of the Hoca Ahmet Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University in Turkey donated medical supplies to the city of Turkistan in southern Kazakhstan, where the university is located, via the Kazakh Embassy in the Turkish capital Ankara.
The university alumni association sent a shipment of 28 oxygen concentrators to Kazakh Ambassador Abzal Saparbekuli, according to a statement by Kazakhstan's embassy.
"Far from our country, we have always felt the hospitality and support of the Kazakh people. We feel debted to fatherland Kazakstan during this difficult period," said Murat Demirez, a representative of the association.
In Uzbekistan, 196 more people contracted the virus, raising the tally to 12,402.
One more fatality brought the toll to 56, while 10 more recoveries over the past 24 hours raised the total to 7,540.
The Health Ministry said 4,806 people were currently receiving treatment for the virus.
Medical staff have conducted 1.2 million coronavirus tests, while 70,000 people remain under surveillance in the Central Asian country.
Tajikistan's total number of cases reached 6,506 with 49 new cases, while 1,275 are still receiving treatment.
A total of 55 people have died in the country, including 5,176 recoveries.
Since first appearing in Wuhan, China last December, the novel coronavirus has spread to at least 188 countries and regions.
The pandemic has killed more than 561,000 people worldwide, with an excess of 12.5 million confirmed cases and over 6.9 million recoveries, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
