Greece on Friday reported 78 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths.
This is the highest increase in new cases in the country since the end of the lockdown in May.
The total number of infections has now reached 4,477, the country's health authority said.
Ten of those new infections were said to be imported and were detected at the country's airports and other entry points, the National Organization of Public Health (EODY) said in its daily report.
Meanwhile, the death toll has hit 206.
Deputy Civil Protection Minister Nikos Hardalias after holding an emergency briefing said that face masks will be made compulsory in all public indoor places to avoid further spread of the coronavirus.
He also added that all open-air events, including saints' festivals, are banned until Aug. 31.
