Greece on Tuesday reported 269 new coronavirus cases, the highest single-day rise since the start of the outbreak.
The country's health authority also reported two more deaths over the past day, taking the death toll to 232.
Of the new cases, 39 were tested at the country's entry points, the National Public Health Organization said.
Also, 25 cases are linked to gatherings and 18 to recent travel within Greece.
With the new figures, nationwide infections have now reached 7,472.
Greece, which was eager to open up its borders for the summer after years of economic troubles, has seen a sharp daily increase in cases prompting authorities to introduce more restrictions at the peak of its tourist season.
