Virus casualties swell in Eurasia, Central Asia

Coronavirus cases and fatalities continued to rise across Eurasian and Central Asian countries on Saturday.
MOLDOVA
Moldova reported 588 new virus cases, raising its tally to 33,072.
At least six fatalities were recorded over the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 935, while recoveries increased by 285 to reach 22,958.
AZERBAIJAN
Azerbaijan reported 184 more COVID-19 cases, bringing its total to 35,105, including 515 fatalities and 32,842 recoveries.
At least 1,748 patients are still receiving medical treatment in the country, which has conducted over 868,500 tests so far.
UZBEKISTAN
A total of 181 more infections raised Uzbekistan's overall count to 38,412, as the death toll increased by three to reach 265.
At least 362 recoveries over the past 24 hours raised the total to 34,351.
According to the Health Ministry, 3,796 patients remain under treatment, while around 100,000 more are under medical surveillance.
BELARUS
The COVID-19 case count in Belarus increased by 174 to reach 70,285, while five more fatalities took the death toll to 637.
A total of 68,577 patients have recovered in the country so far.
TAJIKISTAN
Tajikistan reported 32 more COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, raising the overall count to 8,277, including 66 deaths.
A total of 7,072 patients have recovered so far, while 1,139 remain under treatment.
