New fatalities and coronavirus cases were reported across major European nations on Sunday.
At least six deaths in hospitals and 7,183 new cases were reported in France, according to a statement by health authorities.
The death toll in the country reached 30,916 and the number of cases climbed to 381,094.
Treatment continues for 5,262 people, 673 of whom are in intensive care.
Italy registered 1,458 new virus cases, bringing the tally to 287,753, said health authorities.
The death toll rose to 35,610 as seven more people died of the virus. The number of recoveries in the country stands at 213,634.
Across the world, COVID-19 has claimed nearly 921,500 lives in 188 countries and regions since last December.
The US, India and Brazil are currently the worst-hit countries.
Over 28.84 million cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 19.5 million, according to figures compiled by the US' Johns Hopkins University.
