France reports more than 10,000 new coronavirus cases

France reported 10,008 new cases of the novel coronavirus Tuesday, reaching 468,069 in total.
It registered 78 new fatalities taking the death toll to 31,416.
In addition, hospitalizations and those in intensive care are also up with 5,796 patients remaining in the hospital with 783 in the ICU.
Health Minister Olivier Veran is expected to announce new precautions against the spread of the virus.
France on Sept. 19 saw a record high contagions with 13,498 new cases in a single day since the beginning of the pandemic.
The country's science committee warned that France could see a second wave of the pandemic in the fall and winter.
Worldwide, the death toll from COVID-19 stands at 966,970 in 188 countries with the number of infections at more than 31.4 million, according to the US-based Johns Hopkins University.
