Turkish president stressed in his remarks on Saturday that Europe had been riding for fall by turning a blind eye to the rising Islamophobia threat across the continent.
"Europe has been hoisting with its own petard by not fighting against Islamophobia threat," Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in his speech as addressing a meeting of his ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party at the Kadir Has Stadium in the central province of Kayseri.
"If they do not overcome Islamophobia problem as soon as possible, anti-Islamic discourses and acts across the continent will bring Europe to grief," Erdoğan warned as criticizing Western countries' negative attitudes towards Muslims.
"With attacks on the rights of European Muslims, the fascism had entered a new phase," Turkish leader pointed out as referring to a recent police raid on a mosque in Germany's capital Berlin.
