U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse on Wednesday said he would vote to impeach fellow Republican President Donald Trump after last week's deadly siege of the U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump supporters, becoming the sixth Republican to line up behind the effort.
Trump "did not strongly condemn the attack nor did he call in reinforcement when our officers were overwhelmed. Our country needed a leader, and President Trump failed to fulfill his oath of office," Newhouse, from Washington state, said in a statement.
