Pope Francis landed on Sunday in Mosul, the ancient crossroads of northern Iraq now lying in ruins following the three-year reign of the Daesh.
Arriving in a convoy of five helicopters and amid extremely tight security, the pope will hold a prayer service for the "victims of war" outside a church ravaged by Daesh.
