Joe Biden 'heartbroken' at police officer's death in U.S. Capitol ramming
US President Joe Biden said he and First Lady Jill Biden were heartbroken about the attack at the US Capitol Friday that left one police officer dead and another wounded.

U.S. President Joe Biden said on Friday he was heartbroken that a U.S. Capitol police officer was killed in a violent incident at a security checkpoint on the U.S. Capitol grounds, the White House said in a statement.
Biden said he has been receiving ongoing briefings on the incident and will be getting further updates as the investigation proceeds.
The statement said Biden has ordered the White House flags be lowered to half-mast in honor of Officer William Evans who was killed in the attack.
