Three Katyusha rockets were fired towards the Green Zone in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Thursday, one hitting a school while the other two hit the US embassy grounds, Iraqi military officials said. Three people were injured in the incident, it was added.
A series of attacks, some of which the United States blames on Iran-aligned militia groups, have targeted bases or installations hosting U.S. military and diplomatic personnel this year causing no casualties.
The Iran-aligned militia have in previous years carried out dozens of similar attacks, mostly causing little harm.
