France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian warned on Monday that there were "threats of atrocities" linked to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Le Drian, in a pre-recorded speech to the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva, said that he was "thinking of the mass military attack which Vladimir Putin choose to unleash against Ukraine".
In Mali, he said that civilians face a triple threat, citing terrorism, what he called the junta's slide towards dictatorship, and the private Russian military group Wagner, a group that he said had been "contracted by the junta".
