A magnitude 6.7 earthquake has hit the Macquarie Island region, the United States Geological Survey reported on Thursday

The quake, which was revised from an initial magnitude of 7.3, had a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), USGS said.

U.S. tsunami warning system said that no tsunami warning was issued after the 7.3 earthquake.
