Sri Lanka's prime minister offers resignation

Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has offered to step down hours after protesters took control of the president's official residence and office in the capital.
A statement from the prime minister's office said he told the speaker of parliament that he was willing to step down so an all-party government could take over.
