A car parked on a roadside exploded in southeastern Türkiye just as a bus transporting police officers was passing by, wounding eight police officers and one civilian.
"We arrested the person who rented the car, brought it here, and detonated it, and the person who drove the getaway car after the incident in the Lice district of Diyarbakir," Diyarbakir Governor Ali İhsan Su told reporters.
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said, after visiting the scene, five suspects have been held in connection with the bombing.
A person under interrogation confessed that he brought the car to the spot, he said.
Soylu added that the accused's brother was also neutralized by security forces in 2004 for being member of a terrorist group.
All the security personnel who were taken to hospital have been discharged, he said.
