UN Human Rights Council votes to extend Russia monitoring

The UN Human Rights Council on Thursday voted to extend the mandate of its rapporteur on human rights violations in Russia, handing Moscow a second diplomatic defeat at the United Nations in three days.
Countries backed the resolution by 18 votes to seven to prolong the mandate of Bulgarian human rights expert Mariana Katzarova by another year.
