Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader and Erdoğan ally Devlet Bahçeli has said if a ceasefire isn't reached in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Türkiye should be prepared to intervene.
"If a ceasefire is not established within 24 hours, if the attacks do not stop, Türkiye should swiftly intervene. Protecting and safeguarding Gaza is our heritage from our ancestors." he said.
MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli spoke at his party's group meeting.
Bahçeli called for a ceasefire for Gaza and used the following words:
"If a ceasefire is not established within 24 hours, if the attacks do not stop, Türkiye should swiftly intervene. Protecting and safeguarding Gaza is our heritage from our ancestors. For the sake of humanity and as a guarantor on behalf of the Republic, we must be prepared and determined for any kind of intervention and struggle. We do not step back."
"Children, babies, and women should not die; the oppressors should be ruined, the villains should be cursed."
Bahçeli continued his statement criticizing the United Nations and the diplomacy system in the world with the following words:
"The United Nations is ineffective. The UN Secretary-General has done nothing but show up at the Rafah Border Crossing. There is no hope from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The Cairo Summit for Gaza has yielded no results. Islamic countries passively and helplessly watch Gaza being bombed. Therefore, the mission of protecting and safeguarding Gaza falls on the Turkish nation. Either the sides sit down at the table for a permanent peace and a two-state solution, or Türkiye will express its reaction in the harshest manner. This is our stance and attitude. If there is a need to go to Gaza, no one should worry; we know very well how to be where we are expected, even before dawn. Children, babies, and women should not die; the oppressors should be ruined, the villains should be cursed. Peace, stability, and tranquility should immediately and unconditionally dominate the conflict zone."
