Erdoğan calls for international Palestine-Israel peace conference to put an end to Mideast conflict

"We propose the organization of an 'International Palestine-Israel Peace Conference' involving all influential actors in the region, with the belief that a just peace will have no losers," emphasized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his speech at a parliamentary meeting with ruling AK Party members on Wednesday.
Erdoğan made the following remarks in his speech:
"We propose the organization of an "International Palestine-Israel Peace Conference" involving all influential actors in the region, with the belief that a just peace will have no losers. Over the past 30 years, conferences like this have been convened, from Madrid to Oslo, and to Sharm el-Sheikh. This conference should learn from the failed outcomes of many similar meetings held from 1988 to 1990.

The actions of these invading settlers, who took Palestinian homes and lands, armed themselves, and killed civilians with the support of Israeli security forces, cannot be concealed by any terminology. Just as terrorists are labelled as terrorists, thieves disguised as settlers or in military-police uniforms should be recognized as thieves, and murderers should be acknowledged as murderers, and treated accordingly, for peace to prevail in the region.

To prevent the escalation of the conflict, all stakeholders must act responsibly, and non-regional powers should stop adding fuel to the fire under the guise of solidarity with Israel. We invite all countries with reason and conscience to pressure the Netanyahu government to restore sanity to the state of Israel.

Both parties need to take stronger, binding, and practical steps, especially considering our guarantee offer. The real solution to the problem lies in the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, physical integrity, and recognition by the international community.

To realize this vision, the Palestinian people must unite and solidify themselves. The Arab world must provide the material and moral support necessary for the existence of this state, a move supported not only by Islamic countries but by all states with an open mind and conscience. Such a development will grant Israel the stability and peace it seeks, as radicalization intensifies with each attack, massacre, and destruction in the region.

The consequences of this perpetual cycle of conflict are unpredictable, and it is uncertain where and when the constantly fueled fire will spread. The people of the region and the world do not deserve such suffering, oppression, and vicious cycles. Our repeated objection that "the world is bigger than 5" has once again been confirmed by the recent events in Gaza.

From here, we reiterate the cry of "the world is bigger than 5," emphasizing the injustice, imbalance, and ineffectiveness of the global governance and security system. The United Nations, especially the Security Council, must undergo swift reform.

We need to establish a United Nations structure, including a reformed Security Council, where people worldwide will feel they are fairly represented, with full recognition of diversity and balance, especially geographical and religious distribution. There is no sustainability in a structure that compromises the world's security to the interests of just 5 states."
