Tens of thousands of protesters marched through Islamabad on Sunday calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Supporters of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) party had travelled from all across the country for the "Al-Aqsa Million March" to condemn Israel's attacks on Gaza, according to the party.
The demonstrators chanted pro-Palestinian slogans and called on leaders of Muslim states to do more to support Palestinians.
Videos circulated by TLP showed masses of people gathering near the capital's red zone, home to the parliament building, the prime minister's office, diplomatic missions and other state buildings, which was sealed off by riot police.
Meanwhile, Maunala Fazalur Rehman, the head of one of Pakistan's major parties Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F), held a meeting with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Qatar.
"It is time that the Muslims stand side by side with the people of Palestine," Rehman said, according to a statement issued by his party.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Pakistani Senate unanimously adopted a resolution condemning Israel's indiscriminately attacks on Gaza as "crimes against humanity" and expressing solidarity with the Palestinians.
