Magnitude 7.1 earthquake strikes Mariana Islands region - USGS
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a quake with a magnitude of 7.1 occurred on Friday in the vicinity of the northern Mariana Islands in the Pacific. It was recorded at a depth of 12.4 km (7.71 miles).

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck near the northern Mariana Islands region in the Pacific on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake was at a depth of 12.4 km (7.71 miles), USGS said.
No tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.
