Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday met for talks with Muhammed Muizzu, his counterpart from the South Asian island nation of Maldives.
Erdoğan hosted Muizzu at the presidential complex in the capital Ankara, according to Türkiye's Communications Directorate.
No further information was shared about the closed-door meeting.
The Maldives archipelago lies southwest of India, in the Indian Ocean, with a population of some 590,000. The state religion is Islam.
