A "permanent cease-fire" between Israel and Palestine is needed, a UNICEF spokesperson urged on Friday, as the Gaza humanitarian pause ended earlier in the day.
"We need a permanent cease-fire," James Elder said and warned: "More attacks on Gaza will not lead to anything but carnage."
He said bombs started hitting Gaza "very intensely" seconds after the pause came to an end.
The spokesperson stressed that this is "our last chance before we need to explain" why a war on children could not be stopped.
At least 32 Palestinians were killed and several others injured as the Israel resumed striking various areas in the Gaza Strip within three hours following the end of pause, the Health Ministry in Gaza said.
