Ukraine on Monday claimed that it downed 10 of 12 Russian attack drones in the country's south and west.
"As a result of combat work, the air defense of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 10 'Shahed-136/131' attack UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles)," said a statement by the Ukrainian Air Force.
The statement claimed that 12 "Shahed" type attack drones came from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk district of Russia's Krasnodar region.
It also said that most of the drones were downed in the southern Mykolaiv region by air defense systems, while others were shot down in the country's western Khmelnytskyi region.
The statement further claimed that a Kh-59 guided air missile was also launched from Russia's Belgorod region, which it said did not reach its intended target.
Russian officials have not yet commented on the claims, and independent verification of Ukraine's claims is difficult due to the ongoing war.
