Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday he had inspected newly built defence lines in his country's northeast, as Russian advances put Kyiv's army on a defensive footing.
"I inspected trenches, dugouts, firing and command and observation posts. We are strengthening our defences," Zelensky said on a visit to the northeastern Sumy region.
