Russia summoned British Ambassador Nigel Casey to the foreign ministry on Monday for a formal protest after Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Ukraine had the right to use British weapons to strike Russia.

Russia's foreign ministry said the Cameron remarks recognised that Britain was now de-facto a part of the conflict.

It warned that British military facilities could be targetted both inside Ukraine and outside Ukraine in response to attacks on Russian territory.
