Germany will not be intimidated by Russian President Vladimir Putin's warning of a Cold War-style missile crisis, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Monday.

Putin said on Sunday that if Washington deployed long-range missiles in Germany then Russia would station similar missiles in striking distance of the West.

"We will not be intimidated by such threats," the ministry spokesperson said.
