Quad leaders express concern over South and East China Sea tensions

U.S., Australia, India, and Japan leaders expressed "serious concern" over tensions in the South and East China Seas after their summit on Saturday, avoiding direct mention of Beijing.

The leaders of the United States, Australia, India and Japan said after a summit on Saturday that they were "seriously concerned" over tensions in the South and East China Seas -- while avoiding any direct mention of Beijing.

"We are seriously concerned about the situation in the East and South China Seas," they said in a declaration after meeting in U.S. President Joe Biden's hometown.
