Russia says seized another village in east Ukraine
Russia announced Thursday that its forces had captured the village of Voznesenka in eastern Ukraine, advancing closer to the town of Kurakhove. The Russian defense ministry reported the strategic capture of Voznesenka, located north of Kurakhove, a town that had a pre-war population of about 20,000.

Russia said Thursday it captured another village in east Ukraine, closing in on the town of Kurakhove after months of steady advances.
The Russian defence ministry said troops had taken the village of Voznesenka, north of Kurakhove -- a town that had a population of around 20,000 before Moscow launched its 2022 offensive.
