Romanian PM Ciolacu leads after presidential election first round
Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and center-right candidate Elena Lasconi led the first round of Romania's presidential election, according to exit polls on Sunday.

Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and a centre-right contender, Elena Lasconi, came out ahead in the first round of a presidential election in Romania on Sunday, exit polls showed.
Ciolacu, a social democrat, won some 25% of votes, the poll showed, and Lasconi garnered about 18%. A run-off vote is scheduled on Dec. 8.
