US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday told his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov that talks with European officials in Paris towards a ceasefire in Ukraine had been "encouraging", the State Department said.
"The encouraging reception in Paris to the US framework shows that peace is possible if all parties commit to reaching an agreement," Rubio told Lavrov in a telephone conversation after the talks, the State Department said.
