Iran says it targeted oil tankers, US vessels after American attack

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said Saturday that it targeted three oil tankers traveling along an "unauthorized route" in the Strait of Hormuz and three US-linked vessels elsewhere in response to American attacks on Iranian tankers.

The navy of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps ⁠said ⁠on Saturday it targeted three oil tankers that ⁠were traveling through unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz as well as three additional ⁠U.S. ⁠vessels in other areas, according to a statement.

There was no immediate confirmation from the ⁠U.S.

U.S. forces struck three Iranian oil tankers on Saturday, U.S. Central Command said, ⁠including ‌one ‌off the ⁠coast ‌of Kharg Island, near Iran's ⁠key oil ⁠export hub.
