President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Afghanistan's First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum at the presidential complex in capital Ankara late Friday.
The meeting was closed to the media.
Dostum has for long been the main leader of Afghanistan's Uzbek community. He has been in Turkey since May and is expected to return to his country in the near future.
Last July, Atta Mohammad Noor, chief executive of Afghanistan's Jamiat-e-Islami party, and Mohammad Mohaqeq, deputy to Afghan Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah of the coalition National Unity Government had joined Dostum to form a new political alliance called Salvation of Afghanistan in Ankara.
