Warning to pilgrims: Social media may harm the spirit of Hajj

The Presidency of Religious Affairs warned pilgrims who livestream or take photos on social media during the Tawaf around the Kaaba, stating, "If you turn the Rawdah and the Kaaba into platforms for taking photos and livestreaming, this will harm the spirit of Hajj."

Bilgiç stated that in Hajj, what Allah commands in the Quran and what Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) mentions in his Hadiths are expressed through actions. He said, "Some of our brothers, especially while in the Rawdah and performing Tawaf around the Kaaba, can overuse their mobile phones. Because when we perform Tawaf around the Kaaba, we are in a state of worship similar to praying. Instead of making our loved ones back home witness our worship through our phones, let our actions there bear witness to our faith."
