Excavation work continues in the ancient city, which dates back approximately 3,000 years, under the leadership of Associate Professor Ertuğ Ergürer from the Faculty of Tourism at Alaaddin Keykubat University, within the scope of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's "Heritage for the Future Project."
Head of Excavations, Associate Professor Ertuğ Ergürer, stated that they had reached an important finding during the ongoing excavation work in one of the city's largest residences.
Ergürer stated that a very well-preserved mosaic was unearthed in the central entrance section of the structure, adding, "We are still doing our initial work on the mosaic, which consists of geometric and various floral motifs. We believe the mosaic dates back to between the 4th and 6th centuries."
