Situated about 80–90 kilometers off the Egyptian coast and accessible only by diving boats, the reef offers liveaboard diving experiences during 2–3 day tours. At the very center of the reef stands a lighthouse built by the British in 1863 and restored in 1931, which is still in active use. Daedalus Reef is especially known for its hammerhead sharks. Its rich marine life—featuring clownfish, moray eels, tuna, manta rays, and a vibrant coral ecosystem—offers divers a unique visual experience.
