Dr. Mesut Yılmaz, in his statement, stated that the partial solar eclipse is one of the rare celestial events. Explaining that this celestial event is caused by the Moon's disc being in front of the Sun's disc, Yılmaz said, 'Thus, the Moon covers a part of the Sun that we see in the sky, and we feel the sun's light a little less. The reason why this event is called a partial solar eclipse is because the entire solar disc is not covered.' said. Stating that the partial solar eclipse is not a periodic celestial event and it was last seen in Türkiye in 2020, Yılmaz said: 'We see that the solar disk is covered by 40 percent in Ankara. But when we go a little further north, for example Russia, Finland, West Asian regions will follow this rate by 60-70 percent. The next total solar eclipse will be visible from Türkiye on April 30, 2060, he added.
