The acrobatics team of the Turkish Air Force, SoloTürk, has made demonstration flights as part of the 101st anniversary of the liberation of İzmit. The flight that took place on the skies of the Sekapark Uçurtma Tepesi coast drew great interest. A great number of people accompanied the demonstration with their ovations. Some citizens recorded the acrobatics of the F-16 jets with their mobile phones. İzmit mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet awarded the team's members a plaque of appreciation.
