Venice celebrates Carnival with medieval-style costumes, masks and floats

The festivities began late on Saturday evening as a boat with the unicorn statue and dancing performers floated through the central Grand Canal. On Sunday, Carnival performers streamed through the city's canals on ornate boats and gondolas.
