Gideros Bay, located in Cide district on Kastamonu's Black Sea coast, continues to welcome visitors with its unique scenery where green meets blue.
About 11 kilometers from the district center, the bay is protected as a first-degree natural site and a second-degree historical site.
Its history is said to date back around 3,500 years, and it is reportedly associated with the Amazons in the works of the ancient geographer Strabo.
Known as a natural harbor, the bay is believed to have been used in the past by Amazons, Genoese traders, pirates and smugglers.
Thanks to its sheltered structure, it was also used as an ammunition storage point during Türkiye's War of Independence.
