The "Istanbul Mushaf" exhibition, showcasing the hand-written 10-volume Quran completed by a team of 66 experts over 8 years, was opened in Sakarya.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition held at the Office Art Center as part of the cultural and artistic events organized by Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality for the month of Ramadan, calligrapher Hüseyin Kutlu shared that the project, which had been close to their hearts for 40 years, came to life with the support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Kutlu explained that they worked and experimented with papers brought from all over the world, and since they couldn't achieve the desired results, they made their own paper and paints.
He also talked about the writing and printing stages of the Mushafs, saying, "We want to show the world how much of a blessing, civilization, and wealth the Quran is."
Kutlu added that the project allowed them to see how 10 different civilizations contributed to the Quran and how a civilization is shaped through it. Sakarya Governor Rahmi Doğan congratulated Kutlu and his team for their work, emphasizing the countless contributions of the Turkish nation to Islamic civilization.
He also expressed excitement about the project, highlighting the importance of creating such works.
