The Aviation, Space, and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST), organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the T3 Foundation, continues at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport.
TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu, in his statement at the festival, said that it was an organization befitting the Southeast in terms of participation, exhibited products, and competitions.
Demiroğlu, responding to questions about the National Combat Aircraft KAAN, which was exhibited for the first time at TEKNOFEST, said, "KAAN is our most favorite project. Not just ours, but Türkiye's too. Therefore, we can say that KAAN is now on its feet. Today, we brought it to the Southeast for the first time. As you know, we made its first flight with P0. Our first prototype, P1, has now completed all system tests and is about to enter ground tests."
Demiroğlu also made evaluations regarding HÜRKUŞ-II, saying, "We started configuring what we call HÜRKUŞ-II as of 2019. Last month, September, we can call it HÜRKUŞ month for us. We have now put the final touch on the project we have been working on for a long time. We delivered it to our Air Force. We learned from their feedback that it is a very good aircraft."
Regarding the HÜRKUŞ-II delivery to Azerbaijan, Demiroğlu said, "Production for this batch will be done here because they want fast delivery. We will make deliveries from the products we made for our Air Force to them so that it will be fast. We have received everyone's support on this issue."
Demiroğlu, responding to questions about the joint production of TUSAŞ products in Azerbaijan, said, "Our work on the production of different platforms in Azerbaijan continues. This may not be HÜRKUŞ. Perhaps it could be in the future, but for now, it will not be HÜRKUŞ. But the production of platforms such as UAV platforms, or what we call small tactical UAVs like SUPER ŞİMŞEK, ŞİMŞEK, AYAZ, or similar platforms, is one of the issues we are discussing there."
